A Non-Authorities Group (NGO) employee’s wrist was severed by snatchers in broad daylight in Narsingdi metropolis.
The incident occurred in entrance of the Narsingdi Authorities Mahila School in West Kanda Para on Tuesday midday.
The sufferer, recognized as Shanta Akhter, 31, works as a mortgage officer for NGO ASA.
In line with the police and locals, Shanta was returning to her workplace in Bajir intersection on Tuesday midday after accumulating mortgage installments from the West Kanda Para space.
At one level, two snatchers blocked her means and tried to grab away her bag.
When Shanta resisted, the snatchers severed her left wrist with a cleaver and took away her cell phone, tab, and Tk2 lakh. The unidentified snatchers then shortly fled the scene.
Locals rescued Shanta and rushed her to the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital the place on-duty medical doctors referred her to the Nationwide Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (Nitor) for higher therapy.
Talking to Dhaka Tribune, Narsingdi Sadar mannequin police station Officer-in-Cost Biplob Kumar Dutta Chowdhury, mentioned: “We’ve got visited the crime scene after being notified relating to the incident.”
“CCTV footage has proven two snatchers fleeing the scene with Shanta’s bag.”
“Efforts are underway to arrest the culprits answerable for the incident,” the OC added.
