Walton College’s Stephanie Thomas Appointed to National Nonprofit Board

Reaching Girls’s Excellence in Provide Chain Operations, Administration & Training (AWESOME) has appointed Stephanie Thomas, affiliate professor of apply of provide chain administration within the Sam M. Walton Faculty of Enterprise, to its Board of Advisors for a three-year time period. 

“Stephanie’s appointment is nicely deserved,” stated Matthew A. Waller, dean of the Walton Faculty. “Along with educating, she serves as a task mannequin for our college students, leads pupil organizations and manages an annual symposium. I’m proud that she is representing the Walton Faculty at a nationwide stage with main provide chain executives.”

AWESOME is a not-for-profit group targeted on advancing ladies in provide chain management. Its 22-member board is comprised of senior professionals in a variety of provide chain roles. The group offers members alternatives for collaboration, studying, recognition and inspiration.

“The opposite ladies on the board are govt stage professionals from a wide range of organizations,” Thomas stated. “They’re sturdy feminine leaders and have inspiring tales.”

“Once I first participated in AWESOME’s annual symposium 4 or 5 years in the past, I got here again impressed and motivated to organize college students for careers,” Thomas stated. 

That have impressed her to create a Girls Impacting Provide Chain Excellence Future Leaders Symposium on the College of Arkansas campus. The newest one was held in October 2020 with contributors attending remotely from 39 U.S. and 7 worldwide universities. Thomas serves as govt director for the Girls Impacting Provide Chain Excellence group at Walton Faculty. She additionally teaches an Built-in Provide Chain Administration course designed to introduce college students to the business.

Thomas earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from the College of Tennessee and a Ph.D. in logistics/provide chain administration from Georgia Southern College. In 2019, she was globally acknowledged as one of many High 100 Most Influential Girls in Provide Chain Administration by B2G Consulting.
