Brothers Keeper, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has sacked Motara, a Twitter influencer, as its public relations officer (PRO) after a video whereby she was seen mocking a toddler beggar with a drink surfaced on-line.

Reacting to the event in a Twitter thread on Sunday, Brothers Keeper stated it had severed ties with Motara, explaining that her motion was in opposition to the organisation’s beliefs.

“Brotherskeeper is an organisation that believes in humanitarian providers and never the opposite. Resulting from this, we remorse to announce that @ladymotara is not a member of Brotherskeeper and has been suspended from her obligation because the PRO henceforth,” it wrote.

“The rationale for this choice stems from a viral video circulating on social media of our PRO making enjoyable of a beggar in her automobile whereas driving and sipping her drink. This act goes opposite to what our nice group stands for and believes in; due to this fact, it has been condemned in all sincerity.

“She is hereby directed to handover each paperwork of the Brotherskeeper organisation in her custody. We want her good luck in her endeavours. Brotherskeeper won’t ever be in help of any degrading or dehumanising act. We stand for love, tolerance and far more.”

Motara had earlier apologised for the incident amid the backlash.

“I made the video yesterday trigger stupidly I assumed it was humorous. I went forward to foolishly publish it on my whatsapp story and instantly I did lots of people known as me out on my stupidity and I deleted it cos I spotted that my actions have been excessive,” she had written in a now-deleted publish.

“I’m sorry for mocking the woman and no sum of money I’d have given her would have justified what I truly did. I spotted that yesterday and it has resonated once more in the present day. Sorry doesn’t repair something however I hope it may well by some means reduce the blows of my stupidity.”
